While the rest of us have been enjoying the heat of summer, the boys at Deep Surface (DS) have been feeling the heat in their design kitchen, cooking up hot urban creations for the new season.
The autumn collection of tees, Off the Grid, brings together a combination of reality and fantasy. The designs are motivated by schoolyard memories of bold 80's icons, Anime inspired characters and standout WWII-style military impressions.
DS will unveil their new line in Melbourne this month, at Buffet, the first tradeshow and public expo in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated to Streetwear, Sneakers, Contemporary Style & Culture, Design, T-Shirts and Accessories.
"We're excited with the possibilities that Buffet has opened up for businesses based around street culture," says DS designer and co-owner, Nigel, "It's an opportunity for the industry to think bigger and bolder than before! That's why DS went in this direction; this season's designs are about travelling to the corners of your imagination and beyond."
This is the sophomore collection from the up and coming Sydney designers who debuted in spring of 2009.
Buffet trade exhibitors will get an exclusive sneak-peak of the urban design smorgasbord on Friday, 26 February, before the expo is open to the public on Saturday 27 February - Sunday 28 February.
